Album Description Quantum of Solace continues the high octane adventures of Daniel Craig as James Bond. Directed by Marc Fisher, this 22nd installation in the 007 franchise hits theaters on October 31st, 2008 in Europe and November 14th in the US. This film features music by composer David Arnold and the new single 'Another Way To Die' by Jack White (White Stripes) and Alicia Keys, a first ever duet for a James Bond flick. The Quantum of Solace soundtrack will include the movie score and this new single. David Arnold is a Grammy-winning English film composer, best known for scoring five James Bond films including the score for Casino Royale and the blockbuster Independence Day.

Music for the Worst Bond Film in Years December 27, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
David Arnold has never disappointed in his Bond scores - except that we never quite get the full score on CD, especially the gun barrel and opening music from World Is Not Enough. This score may not quite compare to Arnold's best, but it IS the best part of Quantum of Solace, a film with no plot, no characters, and none of the cleverness and freshness of Casino Royale. Thank God it was the shortest Bond film for decades. It took Sean Connery four films to look bored playing James Bond - the terrific Daniel Craig seems to have gotten there after just one. Not to be outdone by the movie itself, we have a really wretched Bond tune from Jack White and Alicia Keys. I didn't think I'd live to see anyone out-perform Madonna for worst Bond tune, but this blend of idiotic lyrics and amateur-grade music is right up there - or down there - with the movie itself. It's ironic that the great Bond tune from Casino Royale, You Know My Name, was left off the CD while this turkey makes it onto the Quantum of Solace CD, though thankfully at the end so it's easy to skip. All is definitely not right in the creative world of Bond, but lets hope David Arnold sticks around.
Casino Royale 2 December 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The best thing about this soundtrack is that includes the title song "Another Way to Die." For some reason, it's the final track instead of the first but at least it's here--something that can't be said for the CASINO ROYALE soundtrack.
Although CASINO ROYALE didn't include "You Know My Name," it was a better soundtrack, but that may not be the fault of the composer, for sure.
QUANTUM OF SOLACE is the first direct sequel in the 007 series (some might point out that after Blofeld murdered Bond's wife in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE in 1969, Bond hunted Blofeld down and killed him a few times in 1971's DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, dispatching a few doubles before finally blowing him up on an oil rig).
As a film, QUANTUM is not nearly as good as CASINO. The directing and editing are chaotic at best. The movie goes at such a breakneck pace that it's easy to get lost.
But I have the soundtrack to it because I have the soundtracks to all of the Bond films. It's good, maybe even better than the movie.

I love the Theme song. Despite what a number of people think. The rest of the Soundtrack is enjoyable. Not the best but still entertaining.

This was a good purchase all 24 tracks on one CD. It arrived on time and without scratches or breaks in the CD case
Brilliant but... November 25, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
OK, here's this James bond film and the soundtrack is missing the James bond theme. In the movie, it gets played with the end titles, so I guess 007's been replaced with some art director's idea of a better cut.
No matter, the score is richly blended instrumental stuff with plenty of power and deep bass. Arnold's score punctuates the film's action nicely, but is far more provocative as a stand-alone soundtrack CD.
SOLACE is a joyless film full of latest-fad editing and not enough plot to wipe itself with. The score on this CD is part of the best of SOLACE. Great work and worth listening to while driving one's Aston Martin.
